Protestants and Catholics they didn't care, they did say they never meant to kill civilians and it was a mistake but there was another bomb in another town and only by luck it failed to detonate that bomb was a lot bigger and would have killed even more
It has since been reported that the deputy 1st minister was alleged to have given the green light for these 2 bombs as he was the IRA commander of that area

This video of the news broadcast about a catholic grandfather and his granddaughter who's car was blown of the road and into a field laying there through the night. The IRA had planted a bomb near a police station that was only used rarely.
The IRA then called a warning and the bomb went off well before the security forces got in the area. This was a clear attempt to kill anyone that was near the bomb

Onthe 5th Jan 1976 a minibus carrying 16 textile workers was stopped at a fake checkpoint by SF IRA the occupants were ordered off and then asked the catholic workers to step forward. Once they separated the catholic workers from the protestants they orders the catholic workers to walk away down the road to safety and not look back. The SF IRA cowards then proceeded to line the 11 protestant workers that were left against the side of the minibus and opened fire killing 10 of the innocent workers, 1 survived despite the injuries he received. The same murderers who ordered this are now in power
La Mon Hotel
In Feb 17th 1978 a large fire bomb exploded in the La Mon Hotel 12 people were killed burned alive and a large number of others were severely burned
